“ We are in the backroom of Le Figaro Cafe. I'm usually the guy with the shaved head with a red meet-up bag on the table. ”
Book: Jung on Mythology
Author: Robert A. Segal
This will be our 3rd and final meet-up for this book.
If you've missed any of the previous two (2) gatherings, this is your opportunity to catch-up. Join us to wrap-up this rich yet dense reading. I can't wait to read the Erich Neumann and Maria-Louise Von Frantz chapters............
I will facilitate our conversation/discussion.
We had an intimate gathering this past meet-up. We intensely examined the themes within the Segal's book in an organic-circular-manner that favored all perspectives. I personally found our conversation surrounding "the archetypal child" (puer aeternus) particularly seductive. I love the notion of the "nascent whole". I'm grateful to Karen, Aida, Mike, Ben, Salley and new-comer Ron for their presence.
In Robert A. Johnson's words; "A myth is something that is true on the inside, but not true on the outside", "...it is not true in the outer, physical sense, but it is an accurate expression of a psychological situation, of the inner condition of the psyche", "...messengers of the unconscious mind". (pp. 1-3, We, Johnson).
Please Note: Our next book will be "A Brief History of Everything" by Ken Wilber. We may employ 3-4 meet-ups for this one.
Please note: We will have a special afternoon gathering at Karen's uptown apartment on Sunday, May 4th at 3pm. Join us.
Hoping everyone will join and connect with the Conversation soon.........
